Lithium electric saws have become a common tool for garden pruning, wood processing and home DIY operations due to their portability, no exhaust gas and low noise. Compared with traditional fuel saws, they do not require a complicated startup process and are usually more than 30% lighter, making them more suitable for long-term handheld operation. Mastering the correct usage method can not only improve work efficiency, but also ensure operational safety.
Preparation before use is crucial. First, check the status of the equipment: confirm that the battery is fully charged (it is recommended to keep the battery charge above 50% to avoid insufficient battery life affecting the operation); check whether the saw chain is sharp and properly tensioned - use your fingers to gently lift the middle of the saw chain, and the gap between the chain and the guide plate should be 1-2 mm. Too loose will easily fall off, and too tight will increase wear; at the same time, check the safety devices, such as whether the chain brake can brake quickly and whether the hand guard is flexible. Secondly, personal protection should be done well, wear anti-cut gloves, goggles, and non-slip work shoes. People with long hair should tie their hair up and wear a safety helmet to prevent clothing or hair from being caught in the saw chain.
The core operating steps must be strictly followed. When starting, first place the lithium electric saw on a stable ground, hold the safety lock at the bottom of the machine with one hand, and press the switch with the other hand. Wait until the saw chain runs smoothly before starting the operation. When cutting, keep your body at a 45-degree angle to the direction of the saw chain, and avoid facing the direction of the saw chain output to prevent wood chips from splashing or rebounding and injuring people. For wood with a larger diameter, the "segmented cutting method" should be used: first saw to half the depth on the top of the wood, and then cut in the opposite direction from the bottom to prevent the wood from being clamped by the saw due to its own weight. If you encounter a jam during the cutting process, you need to release the switch immediately, wait until the saw chain stops completely before handling it, and do not force the machine.
When using, you also need to pay attention to the adaptability of the environment and equipment. The optimal operating temperature of the lithium electric saw is 5-35℃. When it is below 0℃, the battery life will be significantly reduced. At this time, it is recommended to preheat the battery indoors in advance; after working in a humid environment, you need to wipe the body with a dry cloth in time to prevent the battery interface from being damp and short-circuited. In addition, avoid cutting hard materials such as metal and stone to prevent damage to the saw chain. If you need to cut special materials, you need to replace the special saw chain and reduce the cutting speed.
Daily maintenance is the key to extending the life of lithium electric saws. After each use, you need to clean the saw chain of wood chips and oil stains, and apply special lubricating oil to the chain (drip evenly along the guide plate, start the machine and run it idle for 10 seconds to allow the lubricating oil to fully penetrate); the battery should not be stored at full charge for a long time. When not in use for a long time, the battery should be charged to 40% - 60% and placed in a cool and dry place; the guide plate should be turned over every 20 hours of use to make the wear even. If the saw chain is found to have missing teeth or the guide plate is deformed, the accessories need to be replaced in time, and it should not be used reluctantly.
